Karla Allen 

Founder and Managing Partner

Karla has been "all about mobile" since she joined the founding consumer marketing team at Sprint PCS in the mid- 90's.  Her entrepreneurial spirit has driven her to continually work on what's next in mobile.   Post Sprint, she held leadership roles with Qualcomm and Ericsson then moved to London to oversee the launch of the industries first mobile video services with operators across Europe for PacketVideo. 

After starting Direct Mobile Partners in 2001, Karla provided executive management services to early stage companies in the mobile consumer application space. Beginning in 2005, Direct Mobile Partners evolved to exclusively work on strategy and execution with brands and digital agencies to help them grow their knowledge and success in the area of mobile marketing and advertising.   

Karla is one of the leading industry experts on Mobile Payments, and currently serves on the Board of MCX, the retailer-led mobile payment consortium as the representative for Gap Inc.

Stephen loves to innovate and has spent 20 years incubating and leading the global expansion of mobile startups that pioneered the Mobile Internet, including commercializing digital cellular (as VP/GM of the Sony/QUALCOMM CDMA joint venture), mobile video (as Chief Business Officer of PacketVideo and President, PacketVideo Japan), 4G broadband mobile services (SOMA Networks), mobile browsing (as VP Product Management, Openwave), mobile search (as CMO, Mobile Content Networks), and mobile social networking. 
Between 2010-14 Stephen established and led the Mobile Practice for Resource Interactive, the largest independent digital marketing agency in the U.S., where he created a 30 member team that delivered dozens of mobile strategies and high ROI tactics (mobile apps, mobile wallets, SMS campaigns, in-store Test and Learns, etc) for clients like Kohl’s, Wendy’s, Sherwin-Williams, P & G, Nestle, Victoria’s Secret, Clorox, and other major retail and CPG brands.
